Remote MCP connector

Post to Social Media from Claude

Claude connects to SchedPilot over a remote MCP server, so you can plan a week of content in the same chat where you thought of it. Nothing to install, and no API key to paste.

  • One connector across web, desktop and mobile
  • Claude asks before it uses a tool
  • Posts queue for your approval, never auto-publish

Last reviewed October 2026. A human still approves every post before it publishes.

Setup

Connect Claude in three steps

01

Open connector settings

In Claude, go to Settings and choose to add a custom connector.

02

Paste the server URL

Use the URL below. There is no client id or secret to create.

03

Sign in and allow access

A SchedPilot consent page opens. Approve it and the tools appear straight away.

https://api.schedpilot.com/mcp

Paste this as the connector URL. OAuth handles the rest — no key to copy.

Then just ask

It works from what you give it

Claude is at its best when it has your material in front of it. Paste a changelog, a brief or a tone guide into the conversation and it drafts from that, then schedules the result without you leaving the chat. The approval still waits for you in SchedPilot.

You Take the three product notes I pasted above and turn them into LinkedIn posts in our usual voice. Space them over next week, mornings only.
Claude · via SchedPilot I have written three, kept them to the tone in your project instructions, and queued them for Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 9:00am on LinkedIn. All three are sitting in your calendar unapproved so you can read them first.

Also try

“What social accounts do I have connected?”
“Which of last month’s posts got the most reach?”
“Move everything scheduled for Thursday afternoon to 9am.”
Once connected

What Claude can do

get_accounts
List every connected social account, with its id and type.
create_post
Schedule a post to one or many accounts, with media, a thread and a video title.
list_posts
Read scheduled and published posts, filtered by date or status.
delete_post
Cancel a scheduled post before it goes out.
upload_media
Upload an image or video from a URL and get a media id back.
get_analytics
Read impressions, reach, likes, comments and shares for a published post.

Rate limits are 150 read and 100 write requests per hour, per user. Scheduling a post with media costs two writes.

Why Claude

The same connector on every device

Because the connector is remote rather than something running on your laptop, it follows your account. Draft on the desktop app at your desk, approve from your phone on the train — it is one connection, not three.

  • Works in Claude web, desktop and mobile
  • OAuth sign-in, so no key is stored in a config file
  • Revoke access any time from your SchedPilot account

Try asking it

Things that work well once Claude is connected.

“What social accounts do I have connected?”
“Draft five posts about our new pricing page and schedule them across next week on LinkedIn and X.”
“Show me everything scheduled for Thursday and move the afternoon ones to 9am.”

Claude asks for permission the first time it uses a tool. Scheduling still only queues a post — it waits in your calendar for your approval before it publishes.

What to ask for

Four jobs Claude is good at

Less "write me a post", more "here is the raw material, handle it". Copy any of these as a starting point.

Brand voice

Draft in a voice you have already defined

“Using the tone guide in this project, write four posts about our Bluesky launch and schedule them across LinkedIn and Threads next week.”

Repurposing

Turn a long document into a week of posts

“Read the changelog I just pasted, pull out the five changes customers will care about, and queue one post per weekday at 10am.”

Review

Ask what actually landed

“Pull the analytics for everything I published in the last 30 days, tell me which three performed best and why, then draft follow-ups to those three.”

On the move

Clear the queue from your phone

“What is scheduled for the rest of this week? Cancel anything going out on Saturday and shift Sunday to Monday at 8am.”

Why it is useful

Claude plus SchedPilot

Set it up once, use it anywhere

The connector lives on your SchedPilot account, not on a machine. Add it in Claude on the web and it is already there on the desktop app and your phone.

It asks before it acts

Claude requests permission the first time it reaches for a SchedPilot tool, so you see what it is about to do before it does it rather than afterwards.

It can work from your own material

Paste a changelog, a brief or a tone guide into the conversation and Claude drafts from that, instead of inventing a voice for your brand.

No API key anywhere

The remote connector uses OAuth. Nothing is stored in a config file, and you can revoke the connection from your SchedPilot account at any point.

Scheduled means scheduled

Once a post is approved and queued, SchedPilot publishes it at the set time. Closing the conversation changes nothing.

Approval is still required

Claude can fill your calendar but it cannot publish past you. Every queued post waits for a one-click approval before anyone sees it.

Which one

Claude or Claude Code?

Two different Anthropic products, and SchedPilot works with both — but they connect in different ways, so start on the right page. This one is for Claude, the assistant you chat with.

Claude (this page) Claude Code
What it is The assistant at claude.ai, on desktop and on mobile Anthropic’s coding agent, running in your terminal
How it connects Remote MCP connector — paste a URL and sign in Local MCP server, added with one claude mcp add command
Credentials OAuth, no key to store An API key beginning smm_, passed to the server
Where it runs Anthropic’s side, so it follows you between devices On your own machine, alongside the repository you are in
Best for Planning and approving content by conversation Announcing a release from the terminal that shipped it

Working in an editor instead? Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code and Zed all use the same local MCP server as Claude Code — each has its own guide.

Why is there nothing to install?

Claude reaches SchedPilot through MCP, the Model Context Protocol — the standard way an assistant talks to an outside application. For terminal and editor agents that usually means running a small server on your own machine. Claude does not need to.

SchedPilot hosts the MCP server itself, so the connector is just a URL plus an OAuth sign-in. Claude discovers the six available tools on connection: list accounts, create a post, list posts, delete a post, upload media and read analytics. You never name an endpoint.

The practical consequence is that the connection belongs to your account rather than to a laptop. Add it once and it is present in Claude on the web, on the desktop app and on your phone, with nothing to keep in sync.

FAQs

Claude questions

How do I connect SchedPilot to Claude?
Open Settings in Claude, go to Connectors, choose to add a custom connector, and paste the SchedPilot MCP URL shown above. A SchedPilot consent screen opens; approve it and the six tools are available straight away. There is no client id, secret or API key to create.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Add the connector URL in Settings, sign in, and the tools appear. The local npm package is only for terminal and editor clients.
Which Claude plans support connectors?
Custom connectors are available in Claude web, desktop and mobile. If you are using Claude Code instead, follow the Claude Code guide, which uses the local MCP server.
Is Claude the same as Claude Code?
No — they are separate products. Claude is the assistant you chat with on the web, desktop and mobile, and it uses the remote connector described here. Claude Code is the terminal agent, and it uses the local MCP server instead. The comparison above covers which to pick.
Does the connector work on my phone?
Yes. Because the connector is hosted on your SchedPilot account rather than on a machine, it is available wherever you are signed in to Claude — which makes approving a queued post from your phone practical.
Does Claude get my social media passwords?
No. Your networks are connected to SchedPilot, not to Claude. The connector exposes only the six SchedPilot tools and the accounts you have already linked — never the underlying credentials.
Can it see what I posted before?
Yes. It can list scheduled and published posts and read analytics for published ones, which is what makes asking it to build on what performed well possible.
Which networks can it post to?
Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads and Bluesky — whichever of those you have connected in SchedPilot.
Claude is not showing the SchedPilot tools. What should I check?
Confirm the connector URL was pasted in full, that you finished the SchedPilot sign-in rather than dismissing the consent window, and then start a fresh conversation — tools are discovered when a chat begins, so one opened beforehand will not see them.
What are the rate limits?
Per user, per hour: 150 read requests and 100 write requests. Scheduling a post with media costs two writes, one for the upload and one for the post.
Is it free to start?
Yes — there is a free trial and no credit card is required to connect Claude and try it. Current plans are on the pricing page.
Can it publish without my approval?
No. Scheduling queues a post; it waits in your calendar until you approve it. That holds for every agent and every connection method.

There is a setup guide for every agent we support, plus a REST API for anything that is not on the list.
