Best Time to Post on Instagram in the Philippines (2026): Hours by Day in PHT
The best time to post on Instagram in the Philippines is between 8 and 10 PM Philippine time on weekdays, with a second, smaller window at lunch from 12 to 1 PM. Wednesday and Friday are the strongest days, Saturday evening is the busiest single block of the week, and Sunday evening is the one slot to avoid. If you only get one post a week, make it Wednesday at 8:30 PM.
That answer holds for most consumer accounts targeting Filipinos at home. It shifts if your followers are OFWs in Dubai or Riyadh, if you sell to office workers, or if you post on the 15th or 30th of the month, and the rest of this guide covers each of those.

Best time to post on Instagram in the Philippines, at a glance
| Best window (PHT) | Best days | |
|---|---|---|
| Overall | 8:00–10:00 PM | Wednesday, Friday |
| Second window | 12:00–1:00 PM | Tuesday, Wednesday |
| Reels | 8:00–11:00 PM | Wed, Fri, Sat |
| Carousels and photos | 12:00–1:30 PM | Tue, Wed, Thu |
| Stories | 6:30–8:00 AM and 9:00–10:30 PM | Every weekday |
| Weekends | Sat 8–11 PM, Sun 9 AM–12 PM | Saturday |
| Avoid | Sunday 7–10 PM, typhoon days (see below) |
Post 20 to 30 minutes before the window opens. Instagram needs a few minutes to start distributing a Reel, and the first burst of views should land inside the peak, not at the end of it.
Why the evening runs so late
Filipinos are among the heaviest social media users in the world, and the daily rhythm pushes almost all of that usage into a long evening session. Office hours in Metro Manila commonly run 9 to 6, and a commute from Cavite, Laguna or Bulacan into Makati or BGC can take 90 minutes each way. By the time people are home and fed, it’s 8:30.
Then there’s the sleep schedule. The Philippines stays up late. Scrolling regularly runs past 11 PM, and for the 18-to-24 group past midnight. That’s why the Reels window stretches to 11 PM here when it closes at 9:30 in most of Europe.
Two more factors keep daytime usage down:
- Mobile data. A large share of users are on prepaid load with daily caps and save the heavy scrolling for home Wi-Fi at night.
- The commute itself. MRT, jeepney and bus rides are phone time, which is why the 6:30–8 AM Story window exists and why it’s stronger than in countries where people drive.
The lunch window is real but shallow. Engagement at 12:30 is quick likes and Story taps, not saves and full Reel watches, which is why it’s the second choice for Reels and the first choice for carousels.
Day by day (all times PHT)
| Day | Best window | Backup | What’s going on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | 8:00–9:30 PM | 12:00–1:00 PM | Slowest day. Evening still fine |
| Tuesday | 12:00–1:00 PM | 8:00–9:30 PM | Lunch is unusually strong on Tuesdays |
| Wednesday | 8:00–10:00 PM | 12:00–1:00 PM | Best day of the week |
| Thursday | 7:30–9:00 PM | 1:00–2:00 PM | Peak starts earlier, ends earlier |
| Friday | 8:00–10:30 PM | 12:00–1:30 PM | Second-best day. Payday Fridays run later still |
| Saturday | 8:00–11:00 PM | 10:00 AM–12:00 PM | Highest raw traffic block of the week |
| Sunday | 9:00 AM–12:00 PM | 3:00–5:00 PM | Morning before or after church. Evening drops hard |
Sunday evening is the trap. Family dinner, Sunday mass for a lot of the audience, and the Monday-morning dread all land at once. A Reel posted at 8 PM Sunday will look like it failed when the only thing wrong was the hour.
Reels, carousels and Stories
Reels
Evening, 8 to 11 PM. Reels are graded on watch time and Filipinos watch Reels lying down after dinner, not standing in a queue at Jollibee. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings are the three best Reel slots in the country.
Carousels and single images
Lunch, 12 to 1:30 PM, Tuesday to Thursday. Carousels earn their reach from saves and shares, and people save things during the workday to look at later. If you post a carousel and a Reel on the same day, carousel at 12:30, Reel at 8:30, and never within an hour of each other.
Stories
Two pushes. The commute window, 6:30 to 8 AM, catches people on the MRT and in traffic. The wind-down window, 9 to 10:30 PM, catches them in bed. Stories expire, so early views matter, and the morning push is where the tap-through rate is highest.
Payday, sale days and the ber months
The Philippine calendar moves Instagram engagement more than the clock does, and none of the generic guides account for it.
Payday is the 15th and the 30th (or the last working day). The evenings of those two days, and the weekend after each, see a visible spike in shopping-intent engagement: product saves, link taps, DMs. If you sell anything, those are your two most important posting days each month, and the 8 to 10 PM window on payday runs to 11.
Sale days are bigger still. The 9.9, 10.10, 11.11 and 12.12 sales pull enormous evening traffic, but a lot of it goes to the shopping apps rather than to Instagram. Post product content in the morning of a sale day (9 to 11 AM), when people are planning what to buy, rather than at 8 PM when they’re already checking out.
And then the ber months. Christmas in the Philippines starts on September 1, and engagement on gift, food and family content climbs from mid-September through to Christmas Eve. December 24 and 25 themselves are dead for anything that isn’t a greeting. Post those at 8 to 10 AM on the day.

Typhoons, class suspensions and basketball
Three more things that move the chart:
- Typhoon days and class suspensions. When Metro Manila suspends classes or work, daytime Instagram usage roughly doubles. A Reel posted at 10 AM on a suspension day can outperform a Wednesday 8 PM post. Watch the PAGASA signals and the suspension announcements; they’re a content opportunity, not just a weather event.
- Basketball. Big PBA and UAAP games and the NBA playoffs (which air in the morning PHT) pull the male 18-to-35 audience off Instagram for two hours. If that’s your audience, post before tip-off or right after the final buzzer.
- Long weekends. The day before a long weekend runs like a Friday; the last day of it runs like a Sunday.
Posting for OFWs and Filipinos abroad
A lot of Philippine-focused accounts have 20 to 40 percent of their followers overseas, and those followers are not on Philippine time. Open Insights, check your top cities, and if Dubai, Riyadh, Doha, Hong Kong, Singapore or Los Angeles show up, this section is for you.
| Follower location | 8 PM PHT is | Their own evening peak, in PHT |
|---|---|---|
| Dubai / Riyadh / Doha | 4–5 PM local | 12–2 AM |
| Hong Kong / Singapore | 8 PM local | Same as Manila |
| Sydney | 10 PM local | 6–8 PM |
| London | 1 PM local | 3–5 AM |
| Los Angeles | 5 AM local | 11 AM–1 PM |
The practical move is to pick one. If the Middle East is a third of your audience, the 8 PM PHT post reaches them in the late afternoon at work, which is fine for Stories and weak for Reels. A second Reel at 1 AM PHT catches their evening but nobody in Manila will stay up to post it, which is where scheduling comes in.
Check your own numbers
Everything above is a starting point. Instagram gives you the real answer for free.
- Open your professional dashboard, go to Insights
- Tap Total followers, scroll to Most active times
- Switch between Hours and Days; it covers the last 7 to 30 days
- Confirm the time zone. It shows in your phone’s local time, so from Manila it’s already PHT
Under a thousand followers the chart is too noisy to trust; use the table until you get there. Above that, run a two-week test alternating your best evening slot and your best lunch slot, keep the content comparable, and compare reach at 48 hours and saves rather than likes. The best time to post calculator will do the arithmetic if you paste in the Insights data.
Scheduling around a late-night peak
The Philippine evening window is inconvenient for anyone running the account as a job. 8:30 PM is dinner, 10 PM is the second Story push, and the OFW window is past midnight. Agencies running Philippine brand accounts from Singapore, Sydney or the US have it worse.
Schedpilot’s Instagram scheduler publishes Reels, carousels and Stories directly at the PHT minute you set, from wherever you are, with no notification to confirm on a phone at 1 AM. You can queue a payday post for the 15th and 30th of every month, set a different time for the TikTok and YouTube Shorts versions of the same clip, and load the whole ber-months calendar in one go with the bulk scheduling guide.
Three to five feed posts a week, mostly Reels, plus daily Stories, is the pace Philippine accounts grow at without the quality dropping. The how to schedule Instagram Reels post covers the mechanics, including the music-licensing catch on scheduled Reels.

What the hour won’t fix
A weak first second at Wednesday 8:30 PM is still a weak first second. The Philippine feed is one of the most crowded in the world and the swipe-away decision happens before the hook lands. Fix the hook, then the caption (the 400+ Instagram captions post if you’re stuck), then the hashtags, which are down to five per post (the best Instagram hashtags list is grouped in fives for that reason).
For how the Philippines compares with other markets, the global best time to post on Instagram post has the wider picture.
Start with Wednesday 8:30 PM and Saturday 9 PM PHT, mark the 15th and 30th on your calendar, and let your Most Active Times chart correct me after two weeks.
