9 Best Publer Alternatives in 2026

By Andrei Last updated: September 8, 2026 11 min read

The best Publer alternative for most people in 2026 is SchedPilot, which covers 20 accounts with analytics, AI and API access for $39 a month ($35 yearly) where Publer’s Business plan for the same 20 accounts is $136.

Buffer is the free option with X included. Metricool is the pick if analytics is why you’re leaving. SocialPilot is the agency value pick, Vista Social is the step up for teams with an inbox, and RecurPost is the one to look at if content recycling is the point.

Every price here was checked in the first week of September 2026, against each vendor’s own pricing page where one exists. Publer’s numbers come from its help centre, updated July 2026.

What Publer actually costs in 2026

Publer’s $5 headline is real. It’s also for one account, one user, and no analytics. The plan structure:

  • Free: 3 accounts, 10 scheduled posts each, 24-hour post history. No X.
  • Professional: $5 a month for the first account, $4 for each extra. Unlimited posts, bulk CSV up to 500, RSS auto-posting, approvals. Zero analytics. AI Assist only with your own OpenAI key.
  • Business: $10 for the first account, $7 for each extra. Adds analytics, unlimited AI, competitor tracking, API access.
  • Extra team members: $2 each on Professional, $3 on Business.
  • Every 10th account and 10th member is free. Annual billing takes 20% off.

Real cost at realistic sizes, monthly billing

  • 5 accounts, no analytics (Professional): $21
  • 5 accounts with analytics (Business): $38
  • 10 accounts with analytics: $66
  • 20 accounts with analytics: $136
  • 10 accounts, analytics, 3 users: $72

Is Publer free to use?

Yes, for 3 accounts and 30 queued posts total, without X. It’s a genuine permanent free plan, not a trial. The moment you want X, a fourth account, or any performance data, you’re paying.

Is Publer worth it?

For 1 to 4 accounts where you pull analytics from somewhere else, Publer is one of the best deals in the category. The bulk CSV, RSS automation and recycling on Professional are things Buffer doesn’t have at any price. The case for leaving starts when you want analytics (Business doubles the per-account rate), when you pass 10 accounts, or when you want a social inbox or a visual planner, neither of which Publer has.

Why people leave Publer

Sorted by how often it comes up:

  1. Analytics are gated behind Business, which roughly doubles the bill. Professional shows you nothing about how posts performed.
  2. Per-account pricing compounds. It’s cheap at 3 and expensive at 20.
  3. No social inbox. Comments and DMs stay on the native apps.
  4. No visual feed planner for Instagram.
  5. API access is Business only, so developers pay the analytics premium for a feature that has nothing to do with analytics.
  6. AI on Professional needs your own OpenAI key and billing.

If none of those apply to you, stay on Publer. It’s a good tool at small scale and this list won’t beat it at 3 accounts.

1. SchedPilot, flat plans with analytics and API on every tier

SchedPilot is our tool, so read this with that in mind. It’s first because the three things Publer charges extra for (analytics, API, more accounts) are included on every SchedPilot plan. Its ideal for solo creators, and small agencies looking to connect with MCP and pair ai agents to their social media workflow.

Pricing

  • Silver: $29 a month, or $21 on yearly billing. 5 accounts, 450 posts a month, analytics, AI post suggestions, API access.
  • Gold: $39 a month, $35 yearly. 20 accounts, unlimited posts, 5 workspaces, AI-generated posts and hooks, reply to posts and comments, 300 GPT-5 credits.
  • Platinum: $59 a month, $49 yearly. 40 accounts, 10 workspaces, Chrome extension, 5,100 credits.
  • Enterprise: $99 a month, $79 yearly. 100 accounts, 10 team seats, approval workflow, advanced reports, 10,000 credits.
  • 7-day trial, card required, $0 charged. $299 lifetime licence, capped at 100 buyers.

SchedPilot vs Publer, monthly billing on both sides

  • 5 accounts with analytics: Publer Business $38, SchedPilot Silver $29.
  • 10 accounts with analytics: Publer Business $66, SchedPilot Gold $39.
  • 20 accounts with analytics: Publer Business $136, SchedPilot Gold $39.
  • 10 accounts, analytics, 3 users: Publer $72, SchedPilot Enterprise $99. Publer wins here unless you need approvals.
  • 3 accounts, scheduling only: Publer Professional $13, SchedPilot Silver $29. Publer wins.

The API difference

Publer puts its API on Business, so a developer with 5 accounts pays $38 to post from code. SchedPilot’s API is on Silver at $29, and there’s an MCP server (documented at docs.schedpilot.com) so Claude or any MCP client can list accounts, create posts, upload media and pull analytics directly. If you’re wiring an AI agent to real social accounts, that’s the reason to pick SchedPilot over anything else on this list.

Where Publer is better

  • Bulk CSV import, RSS auto-posting and content recycling. SchedPilot has none of these.
  • Link-in-bio tool and Google Business Profile support.
  • Cheaper below 5 accounts.
  • A permanent free plan.

Pricing is here. SchedPilot publishes to Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky and Pinterest.

2. Buffer, the free alternative with X included

Buffer’s free plan is Publer’s free plan with X added: 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts each. If X is the reason Publer’s free tier didn’t work for you, this is the swap. In our view, although buffer has a free plan, thats not really accurate, because it only supports a small amount of included posts into the free plan. If you are serious about social media, then the best bet would be schedpilot which will cost you 99$ for 100 accounts, while buffer cost will be $300-400 to run 100 accounts.

Pricing

  • Free: 3 channels, 10 queued posts each
  • Essentials: $6 per channel monthly, $5 yearly. Single user.
  • Team: $12 per channel monthly, $10 yearly. Unlimited users, approvals.
  • Channels 11 to 25: $4. Channels 26 to 50: $3.

Buffer vs Publer

Buffer’s analytics are included on paid plans where Publer gates them, but they’re shallow. Buffer has no bulk CSV, no RSS, no recycling. At 5 channels Buffer is $30 against Publer Professional’s $21, and at 20 channels Buffer is $100 against $73. Buffer is only cheaper if you stay on the free plan. Our Buffer alternatives article covers the reverse trip.

3. Metricool, if analytics is why you’re leaving

Publer Professional shows you no performance data at all. Metricool’s free plan shows you more than Publer Business does.

Pricing

  • Free: 1 brand, 20 posts a month, 5 competitor profiles, 30 days of analytics. No LinkedIn or X.
  • Starter: about $20 a month. Up to 5 brands, unlimited posts, all networks. X is a $5 per account add-on.
  • Advanced and Agency scale by brand count.

Metricool bills per brand, so one business on eight networks is one unit at $20, where Publer Business for eight accounts is $59. Multiple client brands push you up the tiers quickly. The scheduling interface is secondary to the reporting. Our Metricool pricing guide has the add-on math.

4. SocialPilot, the agency value pick

SocialPilot bundles accounts and users and includes analytics, an inbox and white-label reports on Standard and up.

Pricing

  • Essentials: $20 monthly, $17 yearly. 5 accounts, 1 user.
  • Standard: $40 monthly, $34 yearly. 10 accounts, 3 users, approvals, inbox.
  • Premium: $100 monthly, $85 yearly. 20 accounts, 6 users.
  • Ultimate: $200 monthly. 40 accounts, unlimited users.
  • 14-day trial, no card. No free plan.

SocialPilot vs Publer

Ten accounts, 3 users, analytics and inbox: SocialPilot Standard $40, Publer Business $72. SocialPilot also has bulk scheduling up to 500 posts, so you don’t lose that moving from Publer. At 20 accounts SocialPilot Premium is $100 against Publer Business at $136, and SchedPilot Gold at $39 undercuts both.

5. Vista Social, the step up with an inbox and listening

“Vista Social vs Publer” is searched three times as often as “Publer alternatives,” so here’s the answer. Vista Social is a different tier of product: unified inbox, review management, listening add-on, multi-step approvals, employee advocacy.

Pricing

  • Professional: $79 a month. 15 profiles, 3 users.
  • Advanced: $149. Approvals, deeper integrations.
  • Scale: $379.
  • Enterprise: custom.
  • X publishing is a $29 a month add-on on every tier. Listening is $75. Annual billing 20% off. 14-day trial, no card. No permanent free plan as of mid-2026.

Vista Social vs Publer

Fifteen profiles with analytics and an inbox for $79 is good value against Publer Business at $101 for the same count with no inbox. Add X and Vista is $108. The catch is that there’s no add-on for a single extra profile; the 16th pushes you to Advanced at $149. For a small team that needs the inbox, Vista is the better tool. For a solo scheduler, it’s overkill and SchedPilot Gold does 20 accounts for $39.

6. RecurPost, for content recycling

“Publer vs RecurPost” is another comparison people search more than the alternatives term. Both do recycling; RecurPost is built around it.

Pricing

  • From $9 a month, priced per social account
  • 14-day trial, no free plan
  • X publishing included, no add-on

RecurPost’s recurring content libraries, password-free client onboarding and per-client workspaces are the draw for agencies running evergreen content. Publer’s recycling is a spintax feature on Business; RecurPost’s is the whole product. If you left Publer because recycling wasn’t deep enough, this is where to go. If recycling was never the point, it’s a sideways move.

7. Pallyy, per-brand pricing for one business on every network

Pallyy charges per brand. A Social Set holds one profile from each of ten networks.

Pricing

  • Free: 1 account, 15 posts a month
  • Starter: $15
  • Pro: $25. One brand across every network, unlimited posts, inbox, client approvals.
  • Agency: $75

One brand on ten networks is $25 on Pallyy against $73 on Publer Business. It includes an inbox and a visual planner, the two things Publer lacks. Two channels for one brand and Publer is cheaper.

8. Postiz, open source with API on every plan

Postiz is the developer’s alternative. AGPL licence, full feature parity between hosted and self-hosted, API and webhooks on every tier.

Hosted pricing

  • Standard: $29 monthly, about $23 yearly. 5 channels, single user.
  • Team: $39. 10 channels, unlimited team members.
  • Pro: $49. 30 channels.
  • Ultimate: $99. 100 channels.
  • Self-hosted: free, but you apply for your own platform API access and Postiz’s docs say Meta and YouTube can take over a month.

Postiz Team at $39 for 10 channels with unlimited seats is the plan to compare against Publer Business with 10 accounts and 3 users at $72. No inbox, Discord-only support, and you’ll want to be comfortable with rough edges.

9. Zoho Social, cheapest entry if you already run Zoho

Standard at $15 a month ($10 yearly) is the cheapest full scheduler on this page, with a catch that arrives fast.

Pricing

  • Free: 1 brand, 6 channels
  • Standard: $15 monthly. 1 brand, 1 user, 11 channels.
  • Professional: $40. Bulk scheduling, inbox.
  • Premium: $65. 3 users, approvals.
  • Agency: $320 for 10 brands.

One brand, one user, and the Zoho CRM integration is the case. The second person is $65 and the second brand is $320. Outside the Zoho ecosystem, SchedPilot or SocialPilot give you more for less.

Which Publer alternative to pick

1 to 3 accounts, want X for free: Buffer free.

1 to 4 accounts, no analytics needed: stay on Publer Professional. Nothing here beats $13 for 3 accounts.

5 to 20 accounts, want analytics: SchedPilot Gold at $39. Publer Business is $38 at 5 and $136 at 20.

One brand, deep analytics: Metricool free or Starter at $20.

One brand on every network with an inbox: Pallyy Pro at $25.

Agency, 10 accounts, 3 users: SocialPilot Standard at $40 or Postiz Team at $39.

Team that needs an inbox and listening: Vista Social Professional at $79, plus $29 if you post to X.

Evergreen content on rotation: RecurPost.

Developer wiring an AI agent: SchedPilot for the API and MCP server on every plan, or Postiz if you’d rather self-host.

Before you cancel Publer

  1. Export your scheduled posts. Publer’s bulk export to CSV works, and most tools on this list can import a CSV.
  2. Note that Publer’s free plan keeps only 24 hours of post history, and Professional keeps it forever. If you’ll want that history, screenshot or export it now.
  3. Run one channel on the new tool for two weeks alongside Publer.
  4. Reconnect every profile through OAuth on the new tool. Instagram needs a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook page everywhere.
  5. Downgrade Publer to free rather than deleting the account if you might come back; the free plan holds your workspace.

If you’re past 5 accounts and want analytics without the per-account math, SchedPilot’s 7-day trial covers 20 accounts on Gold for $39.
